Islamabad: Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates has vowed to donate ‘virtually all’ his wealth and leave the list of the world’s richest people.
Bill says he plans to donate nearly all his wealth to the foundation he launched with his ex-wife Melinda, to the extent that he will eventually no longer be among the world’s richest people.
In a series of tweets, the former Microsoft executive said that ‘several major global shocks over the past few years have left many people to dishearten and wondering if the world is going to get any worse’.
Bill also wrote, “Coronavirus is one of the biggest shocks in history, the war against Ukraine is a great tragedy for the whole world, the damage caused by climate change is more dangerous than previously predicted.”
Gates is currently the fourth-richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $129 billion, according to Forbes, which keeps a running list.
