Islamabad: Officials from the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) have cautioned foreign job-seekers to exclusively engage with valid Overseas Employment Promoters (OEP) to avoid wasting time, money, and effort.

According to an official source cited by APP on Friday, there are currently only 2,577 valid OEP licenses, as more than 5,048 licenses have been rendered invalid. Among the invalid OEP licenses, 670 were revoked due to various reasons, 805 had expired, and the remainder had been voluntarily surrendered.

The officials advised all foreign job-seekers to regularly check the bureau’s official webpage for updated and valid information to protect themselves from unauthorized OEPs.

The BEOE is entrusted with regulating emigration under the Emigration Ordinance of 1979, promoting the emigration of Pakistani citizens, and safeguarding the interests and welfare of emigrants.

In addition to these responsibilities, the BEOE advises the federal government on emigration policies, oversees OEPs through 7 Protectorates of Emigrants Offices, processes OEP licenses, and conducts pre-departure briefings for emigrants.
