BBH Lab Technician Accused of Raping Orphaned Stepdaughter
News Desk
Rawalpindi: A young woman was allegedly raped by her stepfather inside her own home in Rawalpindi. The suspected man, identified as Irfan Sarwar, is a laboratory technician at Benazir Bhutto Hospital and is accused of sexually assaulting his orphaned stepdaughter while she was alone at home.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, the suspect forcibly entered the victim’s room and committed the assault. The incident came to light when the victim informed her family upon their return. The family then contacted emergency helpline 15 and reported the case to the police.

Following the registration of the FIR under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (rape), the police launched an investigation. The suspect initially fled the scene but was later taken into custody by Sadiqabad police.
However, the complainant alleges that the suspect is colluding with certain police officials in an attempt to suppress the case. The family also claims they are being pressured to reach a forced reconciliation and have received threatening phone calls.
The matter has now been escalated to higher authorities. The complainant has appealed directly to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, as well as to the Inspector General of Punjab Police and the CPO Rawalpindi, seeking justice, security, and an impartial investigation.
The family maintains that without urgent intervention, justice may be compromised due to institutional pressure and threats from those allegedly shielding the accused.
