Bangladesh Ready For Pakistan Challenge: Coach Hathurusingha

Islamabad: Bangladesh Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the first Test against Pakistan, stating that “we are ready for whatever challenge Pakistan presents”.

Hathurusingha noted that the Pindi pitch appears favourable for both fast bowling and batting and emphasised the inclusion of all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraj, who can provide spin options.

Chandika thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for supporting Bangladesh’s preparations, including arranging A-team matches in Lahore and providing excellent facilities. He also addressed recent protests in Bangladesh, offering condolences to affected families.

Coach acknowledged concerns about Bangladesh’s batting but remained hopeful about the conditions in Pakistan. Chandika praised the team’s fast bowlers and highlighted Shakib’s improved fitness and form, along with the addition of Mushtaq Ahmed to the coaching staff, bringing valuable global experience.

The match is set to begin on Wednesday at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi. Both teams are currently undergoing training sessions at Pindi Stadium.
