The government is set to introduce a comprehensive policy for the scheme, which will primarily benefit university, college, and secondary school students, as well as working women. The initiative is designed to enhance mobility, boost independence, and improve access to educational and employment opportunities.

During a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat, chaired by CM Bugti, it was decided that the scheme would include pink scooters for female students and electric bikes for male students. Additionally, the program will be accessible to the general public through bank financing, with procedural details being finalized.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and youth development.

He stated, “The goal of this scheme is to provide easier mobility and promote independence for women and young people. We want to ensure that students and working women benefit from this program.”

To ensure transparency and efficiency, a special committee led by the Secretary of Finance will determine the criteria for awarding scooters and bikes. The initiative will also receive financial backing through bank financing in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan, ensuring its sustainability.

The formal launch of the Pink Scooty Scheme is scheduled to coincide with International Women’s Day, highlighting the government’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment. CM Bugti expressed his vision of seeing Balochistan’s women become self-reliant, viewing this initiative as a significant step in that direction.
