Bahawalpur: Two youths belonging to Bahawalpur, identified as Abdullah Tanseer and Haider Mustafa Qureshi, have been inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records 2023 for planting the largest saplings in the world.
Abdullah and Haider participated in the word formation spelled ‘Takmeel’ which was created from 3,296 saplings over an area of 1,200 square feet in the city.
The local youth gathered 3,300 saplings of native species with the help of Paksarzameen, Takmeel Square officials, and the Department of Forestry, who evaluated them to see if they were appropriate for the designated area.
The participants worked together to collectively dig, plant, and water these plants as the event progressed. It began with a white chalk outline of the word. Independent personnel were seen inspecting and confirming each step of the recording process to ensure complete transparency.
