Bahawalpur: Bahawalpur region has experienced biting cold weather with dense fog, forcing people to live indoors on Saturday.

Heavy mist started gripping the Bahawalpur region on Friday night and remained continuous on Saturday. The very cold weather has forced the maximum number of people to live indoors. Traffic was thin on city arteries.

The Met Office has forecast that the region might continue receiving more cold weather with dense fog for the next few days.

One of the prominent features of Bahawalpur’s winter season is the pleasantly cool and comfortable weather. Daytime temperatures range from around 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, creating an environment that is conducive to outdoor activities and gatherings. The nights, however, can get cooler, with temperatures often dropping to single digits, requiring locals to layer up and enjoy the crisp air.

The cityscape undergoes a transformation during winter, with parks and gardens becoming popular spots for residents seeking fresh air and outdoor recreation. Gulzar Mahal Park, Noor Mahal Gardens, and Bahawalpur Zoo are among the favored destinations where families and friends gather to enjoy the winter sunshine.

Culturally, the winter season brings about various celebrations and festivals. Local markets and bazaars bustle with activity as residents prepare for events and gatherings. The aroma of traditional winter delicacies, such as hot and steaming cups of Kashmiri tea and local snacks, fills the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Despite the relatively mild temperatures, Bahawalpur does experience occasional fog during the winter mornings, which can add a touch of mystique to the cityscape. This natural phenomenon, however, does not hinder the daily activities of the residents.
