Islamabad: Actress Ayesha Khan, known for her work in Telugu and Hindi films, has revealed that she is a survivor of an attempted rape, and said that ongoing online abuse continues to reopen emotional wounds.
The 24-year-old Mumbai-born actress, who gained widespread recognition through Bigg Boss 17, spoke candidly about the challenges of being a woman in the public eye during a discussion at the Mojo Story Summit.
She described the daily struggles of dealing with vulgar comments, threats of violence, and the psychological impact of her past trauma. “I have to hear vulgar phrases on Instagram every day.
Inappropriate comments are made about my clothes. I have to think before posting anything, it’s a very sad situation,” she said.
Ayesha Khan highlighted that even ordinary actions, like sharing pictures or discussing her work, often attract unwanted attention and harassment.
Her statements shed light on the emotional toll that fame can take on women, particularly in an era of pervasive social media scrutiny and online abuse.
