Automobile Sale Rises 137.91% in June 2024

Islamabad: The sale of cars in the country witnessed a significant increase of 137.91% in June 2024 compared to the same month of the preceding year (2022-23), according to data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).

Car sales rose to 10,128 units in June 2024 from 4,257 units during the same month of the previous year.

However, for the fiscal year 2023-24 (July-June), car sales decreased by 15.63% compared to the previous fiscal year 2022-23. A total of 81,677 cars were sold during this period, as opposed to 96,811 units in the previous year.

The detailed figures revealed:

Honda Civic and City: 11,501 units sold, down from 12,823 units last fiscal year.

Toyota Corolla and Yaris: Sales declined by 13.44% to 16,305 units from 18,838 units last year.

Suzuki Swift: Sales decreased by 40.38% to 5,567 units from 9,338 units last year.

Suzuki Cultus: Sales declined to 3,689 units from 6,956 units last year.

Suzuki WagonR: Sales decreased to 3,595 units from 5,434 units last year.

Suzuki Alto: Sales increased by 1.42% to 35,883 units from 35,379 units last year.

Suzuki Bolan: Sales decreased to 2,774 units from 4,447 units last year.
