Asjad, Awais Victorious on Day 1 of Snooker Championship

Islamabad: Pakistani cueists Asjad Iqbal and Awais Muneer secured victories on the opening day of the IBSF World 6-Red Snooker Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Asjad Iqbal triumphed over Mongolia’s Ulziitogtokh Davaasuren with a 4-1 win, posting scores of 50-18, 75(75)-0, 82(75)-0, 0-73(73), and 64(61)-0.

Meanwhile, Awais Muneer outplayed Mongolia’s Mendsaikhan Bat-Erdene with a 4-2 victory, with scores of 64(64)-0, 20-45, 0-54(47), 54-10, 53-21, and 46-15.

On Sunday, Asjad will compete against Pandurangaiah E of India and Alijalil Ali of Iraq, while Awais will face Jia Jun Ong of Singapore and Shachar Ruberg of Israel.
