Asia Cup 2023: Rain Stopped Play In Colombo, Inspection Underway
News Desk
Islamabad: The rain has stopped India versus Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 play in Colombo and it’s not a passing shower as it’s pouring heavily. The umpires have set another pitch inspection at 8:00PM (14:30 GMT) and hopefully some decision is expected after that pitch inspection.
Pakistan have won the toss and decided to bat first. While the confident Pakistani side had already revealed their side on Saturday, India announced their lineup at the toss. India was 147-2 at 24.1 overs at the time of interruption with Kohli (8 not out) and Rahul (17 not out) on the field.
Shadab dismissed opener Rohit for 56, while Gill was sent home for 58 by Afridi. India was in good control of the match despite losing two wickets in successive overs.

Slowly, both players started opening their arms and punished every Pakistan bowler brutally. Shubman and Rohit smashed their respective 50s and placed Team India in a great position.
The first breakthrough for Pakistan came as Shadab Khan dismissed Rohit (56). Soon, Shubman (58) also walked back to pavilion as Shaheen Afridi dismissed him.
