Army Chief Honours Soldiers at GHQ Investiture Ceremony

Rawalpindi: An investiture ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir awarded military honours to Pakistan Army officers and soldiers in recognition of their exceptional bravery and distinguished service to the nation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was attended by a large number of senior military officials, as well as the families of the award recipients. Medals awarded posthumously were received by the families of the Shuhada (martyrs) with deep reverence.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and war veterans, General Munir said, “Shuhada and Ghazis are our enduring pride. Their honour and reverence are a sacred trust upon every Pakistani. The peace and liberty we cherish today are the result of the ultimate sacrifices rendered by these valiant sons of the soil.”

The army chief also lauded the strength and resilience of the families of the Shuhada, acknowledging their unmatched sacrifices for the country.

Commending the unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies (LEAs), General Munir appreciated their tireless efforts in foiling multiple terrorist threats and eliminating high-value targets during ongoing counterterrorism operations.
