Islamabad: Apple is set to revolutionize smartphone design with the release of its thinnest iPhone ever, the iPhone 17 Air, expected to launch in September 2025.
This sleek, minimalist device will prioritize slim dimensions, with a remarkable thickness of just 5mm to 6mm, setting a new standard for compact smartphones.
The iPhone 17 Air will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera and a 24-megapixel front camera, offering impressive photography capabilities despite its thin profile. Apple is also embracing eSIM technology, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card tray to save space, making the device more streamlined.
In another bold move, Apple will remove the bottom-edge speaker, opting for a single speaker located in the earpiece. This design choice is part of an overall effort to reduce the phone’s size while maintaining its functionality.
Equipped with Apple’s custom-designed 5G modem, the iPhone 17 Air may forgo mmWave 5G support, which could impact data speeds. The thin design will also result in a smaller battery, which may affect overall battery life.
However, users will enjoy a 6.6-inch Dynamic Island display, an A19 chip for enhanced performance, and 8GB of RAM for multitasking.
The iPhone 17 lineup will also include the standard iPhone 17 and the premium Pro models, which will feature superior cameras and a thinner aluminum chassis with a partially glass rear for wireless charging.
Despite the iPhone 17 Air’s slim design, Apple remains committed to delivering cutting-edge features and performance, setting the stage for a new era of ultra-portable smartphones.
