Islamabad: As many as 421,000 children under the age of five will be administered polio drops in Islamabad district during an anti-polio drive that will be held on November 27.

It came under discussion during a meeting presided over by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon. The meeting reviewed arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio drive and reported on private news channels on Saturday.

The health workers will administer anti-polio drops to children during the week-long door-to-door campaign. The anti-polio teams will also ensure vaccination of kids at public places, bus stands, and other areas. “Every child under five years of age should be vaccinated against polio,” the DC remarked. He warned the officials against slackness in the anti-polio drive.

The deputy commissioner has urged the parents to give two drops of the anti-polio vaccine to every kid to keep them safe against crippling disease and make Pakistan a polio-free society.
