Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has finalized all arrangements for the annual Urs of Hazrat Bari Imam, set to commence on August 7.

According to an ICT administration spokesperson, Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Sahibzada Yousaf visited the shrine area to inspect preparations, which include parking arrangements, sanitation, administrative coordination, and security measures.

During the inspection, the Assistant Commissioner Secretariat briefed the ADCG on crowd management strategies and public convenience measures. Entry and exit points for both vehicles and pedestrians were reviewed to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during the multi-day religious event.

Strict security protocols have been put in place around the shrine, including the deployment of police and law enforcement personnel. Surveillance cameras and walk-through gates have been installed at key entry points to monitor the influx of visitors.

To accommodate the large number of devotees expected, the administration has arranged designated parking areas, shuttle services, and directional signage. Sanitation workers have been deployed across the site to maintain cleanliness throughout the event.

Special emphasis has been placed on food safety. Health and safety teams will be on-site to ensure hygiene standards at food stalls and temporary shops set up near the shrine.

Meanwhile, a targeted anti-encroachment operation has been launched in the Bari Imam area under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Uzair Ali Khan. The campaign aims to remove illegal structures and encroachments from roads and public spaces to ensure the smooth movement of visitors.

According to the administration, prior warnings were issued to vendors and shopkeepers. Action is now being taken against those who failed to comply, with heavy machinery being used to dismantle unauthorized stalls, sheds, and other encroachments.

The administration has urged citizens and devotees to cooperate with authorities and avoid any activities that could disrupt the event or cause inconvenience to others.

The Urs of Hazrat Bari Imam is one of the largest religious gatherings in Islamabad, drawing thousands of devotees from across the country. The district administration has assured that monitoring teams will remain active throughout the Urs to ensure smooth and peaceful proceedings.
