Islamabad: Hollywood actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has once again spoken out in support of Palestinians, sharing a powerful message on social media condemning ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza.

In a recent Instagram story, Jolie reposted a statement from Doctors Without Borders, which described Gaza as a “mass grave” for both Palestinians and the humanitarian workers trying to assist them.

The message drew attention to the intensifying Israeli attacks by air, land, and sea since October 7, 2023. These operations have led to widespread devastation, claiming countless Palestinian lives and dismantling much of Gaza’s infrastructure.

The post also criticized the continued blockade, which has deliberately hindered the delivery of humanitarian aid, making it even more difficult to meet the urgent needs of the population and worsening an already catastrophic situation.

While Jolie’s statement sparked backlash from far-right Israeli supporters on social media, it was in line with her long-standing advocacy for refugees and human rights. As a former goodwill ambassador and special envoy for the UNHCR for over 20 years, Jolie has consistently raised concerns about the violence in Gaza and has called for stronger international intervention.

Since the conflict reignited in October 2023, over 51,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed, and Gaza has been left in ruins. Hospitals, schools, and homes have been among the targets of Israeli airstrikes.

In response to growing international condemnation, legal institutions have taken action. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Additionally, Israel is now facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), further intensifying global scrutiny of its actions.
