American Man Held in Germany for Threats Against Taylor Swift
News Desk
Islamabad: German police have arrested an American man suspected of stalking Taylor Swift and issuing threats against her and her partner, Travis Kelce, via social media.
The individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, was apprehended while attempting to attend Swift’s concert in Gelsenkirchen despite having a valid ticket.
Authorities decided to detain him at the venue’s entry control point due to ongoing concerns identified during initial investigations, which indicated he might pose a threat.
Event organizers had previously alerted the police about his alarming online activities.
According to police statements, the man had made threats against Swift and Kelce. Fortunately, neither Swift, Kelce (who was present at the concert), nor other attendees were ever in danger.
Following a court order, the man will remain in custody until Saturday.
The concert on Wednesday was one of three held in Gelsenkirchen, attracting a crowd of 60,000 fans. Swift is set to perform seven shows across Germany over the next two weeks, with upcoming concerts in Hamburg and Munich.
Her European tour, the Eras Tour, will conclude with five nights in London in August.
