Islamabad: Veteran Pakistani television actor Mahmood Aslam has shared an interesting story about his love marriage, revealing that a humorous remark by a fellow comedian eventually became true in real life.
Speaking during an appearance on the comedy show Hasna Mana Hai hosted by Tabish Hashmi on Geo TV, the senior actor recalled how he became the son-in-law of the Sehgal family.
Aslam said that during his youth he used to perform at open-air theatre and often played the role of a hero. During that time, renowned comedian Amanullah Khan jokingly asked him why he behaved with so much confidence “as if he were already the son-in-law of the Sehgal family.”
“Later, that joke actually came true,” Aslam said with a smile.

The actor also shared that after completing his graduation he remained unemployed for some time. A friend promised to help him find a job, and during that period he met politician Zahid Hamid, who advised him not to work as a salesman and instead offered him a managerial position at a newly opened ice-cream parlour.
Aslam said that his future wife, whom he did not know at the time, frequently visited the parlour with her friends. According to him, she would jokingly say that she did not come for the ice cream but to see the manager.
“She and her friends used to visit because one of my television plays had become quite popular at the time,” he said.
The actor revealed that his wife initially asked her friends to call him over and express her feelings, but they could not gather the courage. Eventually, she decided to meet him herself.
“That meeting brought us closer and our affection grew,” Aslam said, adding that the relationship soon developed into marriage.
He concluded the story by saying that after their first meeting, their love continued to grow and ultimately led to a lifelong partnership.
