Alizeh Shah Breaks Silence on Industry Bullying, Trauma

News Desk

Islamabad: Alizeh Shah, in a fresh outburst, spoke up against bullies in the industry and revealed how she was subjected to torture, bullying, trauma, and humiliation on set.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the Ehd-e-Wafa actress clarified that she did not call out the bullies in pursuit of work but rather to share her painful experiences.

“To those who believe I exposed people just to get work—you have no idea how much that thought disgusts me,” she wrote.

Alizeh further revealed, “I live with PTSD because of what I’ve endured in this industry. I was broken to the extent that I began hating myself for even being part of it. Speaking out wasn’t for attention—it was my only way to free myself from the darkness and the injustices that destroyed me inside.”

Rejecting the notion of wanting sympathy or opportunities, she added, “I don’t want your projects, your offers, or your fake compassion. Every single day I pray I was never part of this degrading world, where I was forced to suffer 12 hours a day on set, treated like nothing. I’m never going back—not after what it did to me.”

Expressing her anguish, Alizeh said, “The trauma has consumed me. There are nights I cry until I can’t breathe, days when I vomit because the memories make me sick. This pain is real—it lives in my body and heart. All I ask is to be left alone… please.”

Earlier, the actress had criticized harassment by senior colleagues, bullying by the media, exploitative production houses, and false accusations by fellow actors. She vowed to expose everyone who wronged her, saying, “I’m done with people trolling me, mocking me, and making memes about me. You have no idea how hard an actor’s life already is.”

Alizeh also revisited an incident from a viral fashion show clip and shed light on the toxic culture within the industry, where actors often struggle to get paid. She is among several artists recently raising their voices against delayed payments, a debate gaining momentum in showbiz.

Meanwhile, actress Juggun Kazim extended support to Alizeh after publicly apologizing for once mimicking her. “Alizeh is upset. Her heart is broken. She’s young and dealing with painful memories of mistreatment in this industry—an industry where I, too, played a part,” Juggun admitted. “She’s struggling with PTSD. Instead of supporting her, we mock her. Please stop trolling her.”

Calling out the culture of online hate, Juggun asked, “Is tearing celebrities down our only source of entertainment? How much free time do people have to follow someone just to leave cruel comments?”

She concluded with a heartfelt note: “If we don’t protect our own people, who will?”

Notably, Alizeh has also removed all posts from her Instagram account.
