AIOU’s Jubilee Convocation on January 31, 2024

Islamabad: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is set to hold its convocation on January 31, 2024, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

The event, marking the golden jubilee year of the university, will be graced by Dr Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan and Chancellor of the University, as the chief guest. Dr Nasir Mahmood, the Vice Chancellor of AIOU, will host the ceremony.

In celebration of this milestone, Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Mehmood has planned convocations at provincial levels to actively engage students in the festivities. Preparations for convocations in Muzaffarabad and all provincial capitals including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar have been finalized.

The convocation on January 31, 2024, in Islamabad will see the participation of students from Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Rawalpindi Divisions (Attack, Chaklala, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi). Graduates from various programs including BA, B.Sc, BBA, B.Com, B.Ed, M.Ed, MA/M.Sc, MPhil, and PhD are encouraged to verify their eligibility for the convocation on the http://convocation.aiou.edu.pk website.

Eligible students are advised to register themselves on the same link before the deadline on December 20th. Additionally, the convocation for the Karachi chapter is scheduled for March 3, 2024, while Lahore will host its ceremony on March 28. Quetta has set May 19 as the date for its convocation, followed by Peshawar on June 9 and Muzaffarabad on June 30, 2024.

PhD graduates are required to register exclusively for the Islamabad convocation, whereas MPhil program students will receive their gold medals and degrees during their respective city convocations.
