AIOU to Host Moot on Modern Trends in Arabic Novels

Islamabad: The Department of Arabic within the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is set to host a two-day international conference on ‘Modern Trends in the Arabic Novel’ as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Scheduled for December 13–14, the conference aims to delve into contemporary themes shaping Arabic literature.
Dr Abdul Majeed Baghdadi, Chairman of the Department of Arabic, anticipates the participation of 13 distinguished scholars from nations including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Thailand, Malaysia, Oman, Algeria, Nigeria, and Syria, who will attend in person.

Additionally, 15 international scholars will contribute to the discussions through online participation. The event will also welcome the presence of faculty members, experts, researchers, and intellectuals from across the country.
The opening session of the conference will be graced by the esteemed presence of the Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi, as well as the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Al Maliki, serving as special guests. Leading the session will be Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of AIOU.
Keynote addresses during the conference will be delivered by distinguished figures such as Dr Habibur Rahman Asim, Dr Ahmad Jafari from Algeria, and Dr Fawad Abdul Mutalib from Jordan, offering invaluable insights into the theme and discussions ahead.
