After Court Order, X Goes Offline Again in Brazil

Brasília: Elon Musk’s X social media platform went offline again in Brazil on Thursday, just a day after it resumed service in defiance of a judicial ban, internet providers confirmed.

Brazil’s Supreme Court had earlier ordered X to suspend access to the platform, citing the company’s “unlawful, persistent, and intentional” disregard for judicial rulings. The court warned X of a daily fine exceeding $900,000 for non-compliance.

The former Twitter was banned last month in Latin America’s largest nation, but access to the app returned on Wednesday, a move the government condemned as a deliberate breach of the suspension.

X has since stated that the resumption of its service was “inadvertent and temporary.”
