Rawalpindi: The upgradation of Adiala public park is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 450 million, aimed at transforming the space into a modern recreational hub for Rawalpindi residents.
During a site visit to inspect the ongoing development, Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Ahmed Hassan Ranjha briefed Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Nirazat Ali on the project’s progress. He said the initiative aligns with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide citizens with top-notch recreational amenities and a healthy environment.
The upgraded park will feature a wide range of sports and leisure facilities, including jogging and cycling tracks, an open-air gym, mini golf area, indoor games hall, and separate zones for cricket and futsal.
Additional attractions under construction include tennis courts, an ATV track, a skating ring, and a scenic water pond.
Ranjha added that the park will also be equipped with family-friendly recreational zones, such as a children’s play area, a modern café, and adventure activities like a zip line and paintball arena.
He emphasized that the PHA is introducing innovative features in the upgradation process while ensuring the convenience and interests of the public are prioritized. “All available resources are being utilized to deliver high-quality recreational facilities,” he said.
