Adiala Jail Clash: Mentally Challenged Prisoner Succumbs to Injuries

Rawalpindi: A prisoner who was injured during a brawl in the mental patients’ cell a week ago has tragically passed away in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

The deceased, identified as Hamad, was reported to be mentally challenged, according to jail sources.

The incident occurred on February 28 when Ahsan, who is also mentally ill, attacked fellow prisoners with bricks inside cell number 8 of the mental patients’ section in Adiala Jail.

Jail officials reported that Ahsan managed to scratch a brick from the wall using a mug of water and then proceeded to attack other mentally ill prisoners who were asleep at the time. Among the injured prisoners were Ijaz Rabbani, Shiraz, and Hammad Ali.

Tragically, Ijaz succumbed to his injuries in the hospital during treatment.
