Why Does Actress Sangeeta Favour Early Marriages?

Islamabad: Yesteryear’s popular Actress Sangeeta has revealed that she married her elder daughter at the very young age of 14 and she became a mother at the age of 15.

Filmmaker further stated that her experience conducting child marriages at an early age was very good and she is in favour of early marriages.

Sangeeta recently appeared on Nida Yasir’s morning show, where she opened up about her personal life as well as showbiz.

Talking about the benefits of early marriage, Actress said that she believes that marriage should be done before the age of 25, after which couples do not get married.

Sangeeta added that similarly, she got her second daughter married before the age of 16 and also got her granddaughters married at a young age.

While discussing her career, Sangeeta told that her first successful film as an actress was ‘Yeh Aman’, in which she played the role of a Hindu girl and before that she had worked in three films.

Filmmaker stated that along with acting, she started directing immediately. As a director, she released her first film at the age of 18, in which she cast Ghulam Mohiuddin as the hero but called him ‘son’ during the shoot.

Actress told that 10 years after the release of the said film, Ghulam Mohiuddin complained to her that he was devoted to her, but she calls him son.

In response to a question, Film Director told that she has released a total of 80 films as a director, of which she has acted in many of them.

When asked about the awards, Actress that she got her first award for the success of the film ‘Yeh Aman’ and at that time she was very young; she was shaking while going for the award.

Sangeeta revealed that she didn’t keep the awards; she got so many awards that she didn’t have time to keep them.

Sangeeta is a Pakistani film actress, filmmaker and director of television drama serials. In 1969, Sangeeta appeared as a child star in the film ‘Koh-e-Noor’ which was directed by Agha Husaini.

In 1971, she moved to Lahore from Karachi and started a more serious career in Lollywood movies. Her role as a supporting actress in Riaz Shahid’s movie ‘Yeh Aman’ (1971) was well-received by the public.

She went on to act in dozens of other movies before deciding to become a film producer-director with her own film ‘Society Girl’ in 1976. Sangeeta has over 120 films to her credit as an actress and a producer-director.
