ACE Punjab arrests three officials, recovers Rs.1 million

The Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has arrested three officials for their alleged involvement in corruption and corrupt practices and seized Rs.1million from their possession.

The ACE team raided a locality in Rajanpur and arrested Patwari (revenue official) Abdul Aziz and Sub-divisional Reader of Irrigation department, Jampur, Sajjad Hussain for allegedly taking bribes.

The raiding team also seized Rs15,000 of illegal inducement from their possession. The suspected officials were arrested red-handed by the ACE team for canceling an FIR of water theft and supply of additional water for irrigation purposes.

In another action, the ACE Punjab arrested Ahtishamullah from Sheikhupura for allegedly preparing fake court orders.

Meanwhile, ACE DG Khan has recovered Rs1.07 million from the employees of the building department for using sub-standard material in construction of Arzai Record Centre, Taunsa. The amount was assessed as loss to the government exchequer.

ACE made direct recovery amounting Rs 427,597 whereas Rs 650,000 had already been recovered and deposited to the government exchequer.
