Accused in Polio Worker Rape Case Identified in Court

Jacobabad: Ahmad Ali Jakhrani, accused of raping a female polio worker during an anti-polio campaign in Jacobabad, was produced before the Second Civil Judge of Jacobabad on Saturday.
During the court hearing, eyewitness Nihal Panhor identified Jakhrani as the perpetrator of the crime. Following the identification, the court ordered Jakhrani’s transfer to jail for a 14-day judicial remand.
The incident, which occurred on September 11, was confirmed to be a case of sexual assault on a polio worker.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Irshad Sarki stated that the DNA report from LUMS University Laboratory in Jamshoro confirmed the abuse.
The report, which matched the DNA of the survivor and the accused, will be presented in court as evidence.
The case continues to unfold as further investigations are being carried out.
