Abandoned Newborn Rescued in Attock

Attock: Police in Attock on Sunday rescued an abandoned newborn and handed the child over to the Child Protection Bureau (CPB) to ensure proper care, protection, and rehabilitation.

Officials said the Basal Police Station received information about a newborn found abandoned in Mauza Baba Karam Shah, Domail area of Jand tehsil. A police team promptly reached the site, secured the infant, and provided initial care to ensure safety.

Despite exhaustive efforts to trace the baby’s parents or relatives, no claimant was identified. Following legal formalities, District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mowarhan Khan, formally handed over the child to District Officer CPB, Sana Kanwal.

The infant will now receive shelter, medical attention, and comprehensive care under child protection laws. 

The DPO emphasized that Attock police are committed not only to maintaining law and order but also to safeguarding vulnerable segments of society, including abandoned and at-risk children, through humane and lawful measures.

One Killed, Two Injured in Wah Cantt Road Accident

One person was killed and two others critically injured in a traffic accident on the main GT Road near Raja Sahib Mall in Wah Cantt on Sunday, police and rescue officials reported.

The injured, identified as Waqas Ali (26) and Hamza (23), both from Fateh Jang, suffered serious head injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors described their condition as critical.

The deceased, Aliyan Safeer, succumbed to his injuries at the scene due to the severity of the impact. His body was later shifted for legal formalities.

Police confirmed that the driver involved has been taken into custody, while investigations continue to determine the exact cause. The accident has once again raised concerns about traffic safety and reckless driving on the busy GT Road, which is prone to fatal crashes.

Woman, Child Critically Injured in Wild Animal Attack

A mother and her child were seriously injured in a wild animal attack in Kallar Syedan, Rescue 1122 reported.

According to Muhammad Usman Gujar, Media Coordinator of Rescue 1122, both victims sustained injuries to their faces and legs. Rescue teams immediately reached the scene, provided emergency treatment, and shifted them to a nearby hospital.

“This incident highlights the dangers posed by wild animals in rural areas. Awareness and prompt action can save lives,” the coordinator said.
