Aamir Khan Breaks Silence on Brother Faissal’s Allegations

New Delhi: Bollywood star Aamir Khan has responded to his brother Faissal Khan’s recent explosive claims, in which Faissal accused the actor of mistreating him and confining him to their home for over a year.

In a rare show of unity, the Khan family issued a joint statement dismissing the allegations as “hurtful and misleading.” The statement was signed by multiple family members, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, and Imran Khan.

The family said every decision regarding Faissal had been taken collectively, in consultation with medical professionals, and driven by “love, compassion, and concern for his emotional and psychological wellbeing.”

“We are distressed by Faissal’s misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir,” the statement read. “As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it is necessary to clarify our intentions and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”

Urging the media to show restraint, the family appealed for “empathy” and cautioned against turning the issue into “salacious and inflammatory gossip.”

The response came after Faissal, in an interview with Pinkvilla, alleged that his family labelled him schizophrenic and claimed he was kept under “house arrest” in Mumbai for more than a year. He described the experience as a “chakravyuh” (vicious cycle) where the entire family stood against him, adding that he was eventually allowed to move out after a year.

The brothers have had a history of strained relations, including a legal dispute over Faissal’s signing powers and a 20-day mental health evaluation at JJ Hospital, where doctors declared him mentally fit.

The siblings last worked together in the 2000 film Mela. Faissal’s latest remarks have reignited public attention on their long-standing tensions, but Aamir and his family insist their actions were solely aimed at safeguarding his wellbeing.
