Islamabad: The various archaeological sites, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and Gandhara artefacts of Pakistan hold immense historical, cultural and religious importance across the world, stated Minister of State Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.

They serve as a reminder of Pakistan’s extraordinary Gandhara heritage while offering immense potential for religious and cultural diplomacy as well as tourism, the Minister emphasised. Neil Hawkins expressed his views during a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Gandhara Tourism Chairman Dr Ramesh Kumar on Monday.

The High Commissioner also lauded Dr Vankwani for organising the International Gandhara Symposium, in which several international monks and delegates from different countries participated.

Various matters of bilateral interest related to minorities’ rights, cultural diplomacy and faith tourism also came under discussion.
