Commissioner For Awareness About Smog Rules Among Masses

Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta issued a directive on Sunday for the relevant authorities to start a comprehensive public awareness campaign regarding the Smog Rules 2023 and to make every effort to ensure their complete compliance.
The smog regulations forbid the use of weak engines, the burning of solid waste, and the burning of tires, he further said, adding that factories that produce pollution and kilns without zigzag technology would not be permitted to operate.
Liaquat Ali stated that Smog Rules 2023 were implemented by the Punjab Government on June 6 of this year. According to the regulations, burning crop residues and smoke-emitting vehicles are absolutely forbidden.
Commissioner Ali informed that breaking the guidelines might result in the immediate closure of the business, a punishment of up to one million rupees, and the filing of FIRs against the violators.
Additionally, he gave orders for the concerned departments to actively take part in the plantation effort to stop smog and the spread of diseases as a result of this air pollution.
With the help of plants, not only the natural environment but also the severity of natural disasters can be reduced. Ali Chatta further added.
