Four Deaths From Congo Virus, Alert Issued To KP Hospitals

Peshawar: After the deaths of four people in Quetta and Karachi, the authorities have issued an alert to hospitals across the province in the wake of threats of Congo virus spread.
According to the authorities of the Health Directorate on Tuesday, all the district health officers and medical superintendents of the hospitals in the province have been directed to make cogent arrangements for coping with any Congo situation.
Additionally, the entire public should receive guidelines from the health authorities, particularly those who work in slaughterhouses. According to the instructions, a warning and certain guidelines have to be shared with the general public following the deaths of four people, including two women and two men, one of whom worked as a helper at the butcher shop.
Hospital administrators have also been directed to set up special surveillance for people who have high temperatures and those who work in slaughterhouses. It advised keeping people with high fevers in isolation until they learned the results of their medical tests and giving them particular care.
