A Tour to Jeddah Corniche

Jeddah: The Jeddah Corniche – also known as the Jeddah Waterfront – is an estimated 30 kilometres coastal resort in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Located along the Red Sea, the Jeddah Corniche features a coastal road, a walking and cycling track, recreational areas, pavilions and enormous civic sculptures, ships, and boats, as well as King Fahd’s Fountain, the highest in the world.
The Al-Rehman Mosque, formerly known as the Fatima Mosque, is famous for its beautiful architecture and scenic location. Constructed on stilts over the sea, at high tide, the mosque appears to hover over the waves of the Red Sea below, which is why it is also known as the floating mosque.
The Jeddah Corniche derives its name from the original French and Italian terms for a coastal road, especially a road along the face of a cliff.
According to Wikipedia, the waterfront of the Jeddah Corniche was opened to the public in November 2017 in an effort to draw tourists to the area. The developed portion of Jeddah has a wealth of amenities, including dining establishments, shops, lodging options, hotels, aquariums, a cultural hub, flourishing gardens, and other tourist attractions.
The Jeddah Waterfront project was inaugurated by Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al Faisal on November 30, 2017. The waterfront occupies an estimated area of 730,000 square metres over 4.2 km of Jeddah’s Red Sea Coastline.
The established area features a parking lot that can fit 3,000 cars and accommodate 120,000 people. It is also furnished with a variety of amenities, such as restrooms, eating establishments, shops, food stands, a play area for kids, beaches, and facilities for the disabled.
The layout of the resort makes it appropriate and enjoyable for visitors of all ages and interests. The developed space is divided into a number of zones; some are set aside for kids to play safely, and others are made for athletes and others looking to work out outside.
Three sandy beaches on the Jeddah Waterfront allow guests to swim and take advantage of the city’s mild weather. Families and friends can gather together and sit together in a number of grassy areas that have been planted.
Additionally, it has numerous well-established huts dispersed in various locations where people can enjoy self-cooking. Three swimming-oriented sand beaches are bordered by artificial islands that have been given a crescent moon shape and are dotted with palm trees. Moreover, it has 100 surveillance cameras and additional services to ensure cleanliness.
Fond memories. I remember walking along the beach some years back and doing my Namaz in the Masjid along the beach.
Thank you for bringing those memories flooding back.
