Public Diplomacy: EU Dosti Truck Scheduled To Tour Pakistan
News Desk
Islamabad: A tour of Pakistan’s cultural richness and culinary delights is planned by the EU Dosti Truck which will meet people in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Quetta.
A unique EU-Pakistan friendship vehicle is created for the first time as a way to symbolically represent their bilateral relationship, thereby enhancing public diplomacy and outreach.
Exploring Pakistan’s vibrant culture is the goal of the campaign. The truck would tour the entire nation to engage with Pakistani students at different campuses and provide a glimpse into the close relationship between the EU and Pakistan.
EU Ambassador Dr Riina Kionka said that the specifically designed EU-Pakistan friendship truck has garnered a great deal of praise both domestically and internationally.
She said, “We cherish the diverse cultures, languages, religions, histories and identities that coexist in Europe. They contribute to our wealth, help define our values, bind us together, and offer us a feeling of common purpose.”
“The foundation of our relationships with the rest of the world, particularly Pakistan, is a shared understanding of diverse values,” Dr Riina added.
