Skin Allergies Are On Rise, Warns Expert

Islamabad: Skin allergies are more common in the winter due to the dry, chilly weather that causes itchy rashes and dehydration, said health expert.
Health Expert Dr Saira Awan stated that water and natural oils should be used to assist maintains the skin moist and enhanced to invigorate its protective properties in order to prevent developing winter rash.
Winter rash develops when the skin loses too much moisture in chilly weather.
She said that central heating, cold, dry air, and other environmental variables can all rob skin of its moisture and oils. Some medical disorders and lifestyle choices can also contribute to dry skin and rashes.
Dr Saira informed about wintertime skin allergens, such as Rosacea, a bacterial illness that result in skin rashes and tiny, red bumps on the skin. Cold urticarial, this rare skin condition causes swollen, itchy bumps called hives to form after exposure to the cold.
Some people develop hives after swimming in cold water, while others are sensitive to cold air. The rash is temporary and lasts for 1 to 2 hours after exposure to the cold.
