DNA Of Peshawar’s Suicide Bomber Matched: IGP KP

Peshawar: The DNA of the suicide bomber’s body, head and hairs found in the helmet he wore matched, stated Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mauzzam Jah Ansari on Monday.

The IGP said that the old mosque hall, which was reportedly built on bricks without the use of any pillars or steel rods, was the location of the explosion. He added that due to the blast’s severity, the brick walls were unable to remain intact. As a result, the roof collapsed and resulted in numerous fatalities.

Mauzzam Jah Ansari claimed that a banned outfit was found to be responsible for the police line blast during the ongoing investigation and the facilitators have also been identified.

The terrorists responsible for the Peshawar mosque blast have already committed other terrorist crimes. The IGP promised that the terrorist network will soon be dismantled and those responsible would face justice.

In the wake of this deadly attack, the security requirements for entry into Police Lines have further been tightened. According to police sources, nobody, including police officers carrying weapons and donning helmets, will be permitted to enter the Police Lines. The entry of police officers in bulletproof vests will continue to be prohibited within the Police Lines.

The sources added that no exceptions would be made in this regard and that anyone entering the Police Lines mosque for prayer would be subject to a complete body search. APP
