Ali Zafar Condemns Islamophobia, Defends Islam’s Legacy

Islamabad: Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar has spoken out against the growing Islamophobic rhetoric, emphasizing the peaceful teachings and significant contributions of Islam worldwide.
On the social media platform X, Ali Zafar criticized a statement made by American political commentator Charlie Kirk.
He tweeted, “The conflict was never Islam versus the West. It’s ignorance versus truth. Islam introduced algebra, medicine, philosophy, and poetry to the world while Europe was in the Dark Ages.”
In a thread that has since gained widespread attention, the artist added, “Today, millions of Muslims live and thrive in the West as doctors, scientists, artists, and citizens shaping its future. Cities like Dubai and the rapidly developing Saudi Arabia show that peaceful coexistence isn’t just possible—it’s already happening. The old narrative is outdated. It’s time to move forward.”
Ali Zafar didn’t stop there. He also responded to Indian social media personality Rahul Sharma, who had tried to associate terrorism with Islam. Zafar firmly replied, “I can show you twice as many articles linking terror to other religions as well. Terror has no religion. Period.”
He further pointed out how branding and psychological marketing have skewed public perceptions of Islam: “Linking terrorism to Islam is a form of branding deliberate psychological marketing.
When you hear ‘Nike,’ you think ‘Just Do It.’ When you hear ‘Apple,’ you think innovation. But when you hear ‘Islam,’ you’re conditioned to think terror. That’s not truth. That’s propaganda. Study history, not propaganda. You’ll do better in school.”
Known for his outspoken views on social justice and cultural integrity, the Teefa in Trouble star has frequently used his platform to address global issues.
His recent comments have ignited conversations among fans, intellectuals, and fellow celebrities, many of whom have praised his thoughtful response amid rising anti-Muslim sentiment.
