Islamabad: During the last five years, the Department of Archeology and Museums (DoAM) Islamabad has discovered 38 new archaeological sites in the federal capital during the last five years.

An official source claims that the department’s team of archaeologists assisted in the discovery of these new archaeological sites.

There are already six archaeological sites in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), including Ban Faqiran Stupa, Mai Qamru Mosque, Tomb of Sultan Makrab Khan, Farwala Fort, Rawat Fort and Shahullah Dutta Cave.

All archaeological sites and monuments were decommissioned and turned over to the respective provinces following the 18th amendment to the constitution in 2010.
