Islamabad: A stirring and emotionally charged art exhibition titled “Bunyan Um Marsoos – Canvas ki Zubani” opened on Friday at the Lok Virsa Art Gallery to pay heartfelt tribute to the unwavering courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

The exhibition unites diverse art forms in a vibrant celebration of national pride and resilience.

Organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) under the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, the event brings together various creative expressions—from oil paintings and pencil sketches to calligraphy, truck art, and wood carvings—to honor the valor of the nation’s defenders.

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khichi, inaugurated the exhibition, with Federal Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, Asad Rehman Gillani, in attendance. The ceremony drew a diverse audience, including artists, students, veterans, and members of the general public.

Among the featured artists were Muhammad Farid (Truck Art), Muzzamil (Sketching), Irfan Butt (Wood Carving), Muhammad Kabir (Calligraphy), and Muhammad Hanif Ullah (Painting). Their works captivated visitors with creative storytelling and potent patriotic symbolism.Armed Forces Bravery on Canvas at Lok VirsaSpeaking at the event, Minister Khichi praised the armed forces for their dedication, stating,

“This exhibition is a tribute to our heroes—an artistic salute to their bravery, commitment, and sacrifices. Our political and military leadership responded to Indian aggression in an unprecedented and unified manner, setting a new benchmark in national defense.”

He further noted that Operation Bunyan Um Marsoos had united the nation in solidarity, adding,

“The way our armed forces stood tall in the face of challenges is deeply inspiring. I pray that Allah continues to protect them as they protect us.”

Khichi also lauded the Prime Minister’s decision to promote General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal, describing it as a historic and wise move aligned with the aspirations of the people.

“General Asim Munir is truly the most deserving officer in the current era to be honoured with this title.”

Recalling a poignant moment, he mentioned how Air Force fighter pilots signed their wills before embarking on missions—a vivid symbol of sacrifice and devotion.

Additionally, the Minister announced that the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture would produce a documentary to chronicle the armed forces’ relentless efforts and preserve their legacy through media. He also revealed that the best artwork on display during the exhibition would be considered for a prize.

Officials at Lok Virsa expressed their appreciation for the overwhelming public interest. Running until May 25, the exhibition stands as a testament to the nation’s unified spirit and artistic tribute to its armed forces.
