Sensitivity Deficit: Rescue 1122 Kohat Receives 99,647 False Calls in 2022

Peshawar: The Rescue 1122 Kohat office received at least 99,647 fake calls on its emergency helpline during the course of the previous year, resulting in a waste of time and resources for this already financially precarious organisation; which shows a lack of education and an uncaring attitude toward humanity or society.
The emergency centre received a total of 145,045 calls in December of last year, while the office got 46,864 calls with information, as per the information provided by the Kohat Rescue office. Spokesperson Yasir Khattak said in 2022, rescue crews promptly reacted to 3,994 various types of accidents and offered amenities to the general public during emergencies.
During this time, Rescue 1122 handled 3,994 different types of emergencies, including 2,896 medical, 591 road accidents, 186 fire, 226 different types of recoveries, six gunshots, seven house collapses, 14 cylinder blasts and seven drowning incidents. Besides, as many as 4,441 patients were given first aid and transported safely to hospital while 219 people died on the spot. Rescue 1122 teams provided rescue service to a total of 4,660 people.
District Emergency Officer Jawad Khan Khalil stated the building of four rescue stations and one South Region Office of Rescue 1122, where the rescue service has been initiated, was completed in the year 2022. He further mentioned that Dara Adamkhel and Lachi station projects would also be finished by the end of 2023.
