PTA Targets Top YouTubers in Crackdown
News Desk
Islamabad: Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reportedly compiled a list of prominent Pakistani YouTubers accused of promoting hate campaigns targeting the state and military leadership.
Sources within the PTA indicate that the agency has formally requested the federal government’s approval to block these YouTube channels within Pakistan as part of a broader initiative to control content considered harmful to national security and public order during the ongoing diplomatic strain.
The list is said to include well-known figures such as Imran Riaz, Sabir Shakir, Siddique Jan, and Shahbaz Gill. The PTA has already moved to block the channels of Ahmed Noorani and Waqar Malik in Pakistan.
However, the authority is still awaiting official clearance to take further action against the remaining channels on the list. Additionally, the PTA has shared the collected data—highlighting individuals allegedly involved in anti-military propaganda—with YouTube’s administration for potential further action.
