Islamabad: The office of the District Magistrate has established a 24/7 District Control Room to bolster security measures across the Islamabad Capital Territory.

According to a notification issued by the Additional District Magistrate on Thursday, the initiative comes in response to the prevailing security situation in the country.

The control room, based at the Safe City Project Building in Police Lines, Sector H-11, is designed to ensure rapid response and effective coordination during emergencies.

To assist residents, three dedicated helpline numbers — 051-9001521, 051-9001581, and 051-9001584 — have been activated. Citizens are urged to contact these numbers for any security-related concerns or emergencies.

Citizens Urged to Stay Calm, Rely on Verified Sources

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, on Thursday urged citizens to remain calm, confirming that sirens reportedly heard across the federal capital were fake and not linked to any emergency situation.

In an exclusive statement to a private news channel, the DC clarified that there is no cause for alarm and emphasized that all official information will be communicated by the district administration through verified media platforms, including television and social media.

He cautioned the public against paying heed to rumours and stressed the importance of relying only on credible sources for updates.

DC Memon further warned that certain individuals were deliberately spreading panic by circulating fake siren sounds. He said strict legal action would be taken against those attempting to disturb public peace and order.
