A circular released on Tuesday explained that the exams scheduled for May 7 had been postponed due to security concerns arising from the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India. However, the board assured that the remaining exams would proceed as planned.

“In line with the instructions from the Competent Authority/Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab, and Chairman PBCC, it is hereby notified that the theory papers for Intermediate Part-II and practical exams for the Secondary School Certificate (First Annual) Examinations, 2025, will take place from May 8 onwards, as per the date sheet and roll number slips,” the circular stated.

The theory exams scheduled for May 8 include Chemistry, Geology, and Health & Physical Education in the morning session, and Chemistry, Statistics, and Library Science in the evening. Additionally, practical exams for Biology, Computer Science, and Food and Nutrition at the matric level will also be held as scheduled.

Students are required to report to their designated examination centres and laboratories at the specified times on their roll number slips. The board has emphasized that there will be no changes to exam centres or timings for the exams starting May 8.

BISE Lahore also announced that a revised schedule for the exams that were postponed on May 7 will be shared at a later date.

This announcement comes amid concerns from students and parents regarding potential disruptions to the examination schedule due to regional tensions. However, the board reassured all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting the exams safely and on time.
