ICT Police Use Technology to Track, Rescue 3-Year-Old Azlan

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have successfully recovered three-year-old Azlan, son of Faisal Ali Rana, who had been abducted from Centaurus Mall, located within the jurisdiction of the Margalla Police Station. The child was rescued in an impressively short amount of time.

An official informed APP that the child, a resident of Sector B-17, Islamabad, was located using advanced technology, including Safe City cameras, coupled with human intelligence. This led to the swift arrest of the female kidnapper, who had been involved in multiple child abduction cases in the past.

The woman is currently under investigation, and further updates on the case are anticipated. Following the recovery, Azlan was safely reunited with his parents, who were overwhelmed with relief and joy.

To facilitate the emotional reunion, SSP Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arranged a video call between the child and his parents, allowing them to see their son after his safe return. The parents expressed heartfelt gratitude toward the Islamabad Police for their prompt and professional response.

Faisal Ali Rana, Azlan’s father, thanked the Islamabad Police for their swift action and praised the officers for recovering his son in such a short period. He expressed deep appreciation for their tireless efforts.

Inspector General of Police (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited the DIG Islamabad office to meet the recovered child personally. During the meeting, IG Rizvi commended the coordinated efforts of the officers, including DIG Tariq, SSP Operations, SSP (Investigation), SSP (CTD), and SP CIA.

IG Rizvi also praised CIA Incharge Suleman Shah and his team for their outstanding work on the case. As a token of appreciation, IG Rizvi announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for all officers involved in the operation.

IG Rizvi expressed pride in the professionalism and commitment of the Islamabad Police teams. “My team has solved dozens of major cases over the past year in a professional manner. We will continue serving the citizens with the same passion and dedication,” he said.
