Quetta: The Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a joint resolution condemning Indian aggression and reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Pakistan Armed Forces to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and stability.
The session was chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, during which lawmakers from both the treasury and opposition benches expressed solidarity with the military and denounced what they termed as “baseless allegations” by India against Pakistan.
Presenting the resolution, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Zareen Khan Magsi said that India’s accusations were unfounded and aimed at maligning Pakistan internationally. The resolution called on the federal government to highlight Indian aggression at global forums.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that the people of Balochistan stood united with the federation and the Armed Forces for the integrity of Pakistan. “War is never desirable, but if imposed on us, Pakistan will respond in a way that will be remembered for generations. We served tea the first time, this time we will take something else,” he remarked, referring to a past military standoff.
Lawmakers across party lines echoed strong condemnation of Indian actions. Majeed Badini said, “India and Israel are the biggest terrorists. We condemn the Pahalgam incident and will teach India a lesson if it takes any action.”
Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran said that such provocations were not new from the Modi-led government, which he accused of pursuing an anti-Islamic agenda. “We stand united for the integrity of Pakistan,” he added.
Mena Majeed alleged that India was involved in acts of terrorism in Balochistan, citing a recent attack on a train. “The people of Balochistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army,” she said.
Sanjay Kumar, another member, said the Modi government appeared to be “suffering from political desperation,” adding that minorities in Pakistan were united in defense of the country.
Ali Madad Jatak termed India’s blame for the Pahalgam incident as condemnable and reiterated Balochistan’s full support for the Armed Forces.
Other lawmakers, including provincial ministers and opposition leaders—Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Zarak Khan Mandokhel, Ghazala Gola, Younis Zehri, and Rehmat Saleh Baloch—also voiced their resolve to give a strong response in case of any Indian aggression.
They emphasized that both the government and opposition in Balochistan were united on matters of national security.
The session was adjourned until 3:00 PM on May 2.
