Meta Launches New AI Assistant App to Rival ChatGPT
News Desk
Islamabad: Meta, the social media giant, introduced its first standalone AI assistant app on Tuesday, aiming to rival ChatGPT by offering users direct access to its generative AI models.
In a video posted on Instagram, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared that the app is designed to be a personal AI assistant, initially offering basic features with voice-based interactions tailored to individual users.
Zuckerberg explained, “We’re starting off really simple, with just a bit of context about your interests, but over time, you’ll be able to share a lot more about yourself and the people you care about across our apps, if you choose to.”
In line with Meta’s social media roots, the app includes a social feed where users can view AI-generated posts from others.
Additionally, the app replaces Meta View as the companion for Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, enabling seamless conversations across the glasses, mobile app, and desktop platforms.
This launch comes as OpenAI continues to lead in direct-to-user AI with its regularly updated ChatGPT assistant.
