Multan Sultans Crush Qalandars, End Losing Streak

Islamabad: Multan Sultans broke their losing streak with a convincing 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars in the 12th match of PSL X, held at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Sultans posted a formidable total of 228 for 5 in their 20 overs. Yasir Khan led the charge with a blistering 87 off 44 balls. He received solid support from Iftikhar Ahmed, who remained unbeaten on 40, while Usman Khan and skipper Mohammad Rizwan contributed 39 and 32 runs respectively.

In response, Lahore Qalandars could only manage 195 for 9 in their allotted overs. Sikandar Raza stood out with a well-played half-century, while Sam Billings added 43 runs. Fakhar Zaman scored 32, with Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell contributing 18 and 19 runs respectively.

Multan’s bowling attack put in a strong performance. Ubaid Shah led the way with three wickets, while Mitchell Bracewell and Usama Mir picked up two each. David Willey and Josh Little chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Lahore’s bowling was less effective. Rishad Hossain was the most successful, taking two wickets in his four overs. Sikandar Raza, Shaheen Afridi, and Asif Afridi each claimed a wicket, with Afridi conceding 43 runs in his four-over spell.

This match also marked the return of Pakistan’s marquee domestic T20 tournament to Multan.
