Islamabad: The Punjab government has appointed renowned actress and television host Iffat Omar as the cultural adviser to Azma Bukhari, the Provincial Minister for Information and Culture.

According to official sources, the veteran media figure will play a key role in revitalizing and promoting Punjab’s cultural heritage — a mission viewed as both vital and symbolic for preserving the province’s rich artistic legacy.

As part of her new position, Iffat Omar has been given an official office at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore, a landmark center for artistic and cultural activity in the province.

With her extensive experience in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, Iffat Omar brings a strong background in media, the arts, and public engagement. Her appointment is expected to serve as a bridge between traditional cultural practices and contemporary platforms, injecting fresh energy into Punjab’s cultural landscape.
