Balochistan Enforces Section 144, Punjab Bans Temporary Rides for Eid

Islamabad: In light of heightened security concerns, the Balochistan government has enforced Section 144 across the province, restricting public movement at recreational sites during Eidul Fitr 2025 celebrations.
The Balochistan Home Department issued a notification stating that the restriction is aimed at ensuring public safety. In Quetta, the district administration has specifically banned visits to popular recreational spots like Hanna Orak, Karkhassa, and Shaban. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid these areas during the festive period to prevent any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, the Home Department has banned temporary mechanical rides that are typically set up for Eid festivities, citing concerns over public safety.
According to the official notification, permanent rides at amusement parks and play areas will be allowed to operate, but only if they have a valid fitness certificate, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
The Punjab Home Department instructed deputy commissioners to strictly enforce the ban on temporary rides, warning that these rides, often assembled without proper safety inspections, pose significant risks, especially with the large crowds expected during Eid.
Both measures reflect the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment during the festive season, prioritizing public safety amidst large gatherings.
