Terrorist Commander Killed in Hangu Operation

Peshawar: A terrorist commander was killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district. Acting on a tip-off about militant activity in the Shanawori area, a joint team of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police raided a suspected hideout.

Upon being challenged, the militants opened fire, leading to a fierce gun battle.

During the exchange, terrorist commander Saeed—identified as a key operative of the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij—was neutralized, while his accomplice managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Saeed was wanted for multiple attacks on law enforcement personnel. Police recovered a Kalashnikov, two hand grenades, and foreign SIM cards from the site.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a combing operation to track down the escaped militant.

One Dead, Three Injured in Hazara Expressway Accident

One person was killed, and three others sustained injuries in a collision between two trucks near the Chinar Kot Battal Tunnel on the Hazara Expressway.

According to Rescue 1122, a medical team from the Bhirkund Rescue Station responded to the accident. Officials confirmed that 28-year-old Rizwan lost his life, while Nadeem (35), Javed (40), and another Nadeem (29) were injured.

 

The injured were provided first aid before being shifted to the Rural Health Center (RHC) Battal for further treatment.
